Richard A. Walls


Dr. Walls started his career in the energy business in Canada in the late 1970’s with Shell Canada and has had a distinguished career in both the Canadian and U.S. energy industry over the past 40 years.  Dr. Walls is also the President of RAW Energy Ltd., a private holding and investment corporation.

Recently, Dr. Walls was the founder President and CEO of Mapan Energy Ltd., a publicly traded natural gas company which was acquired by Tourmaline Oil Corp. in August 2015.  Prior to Mapan, Dr. Walls was the President, CEO and Director of C&C Energia Ltd., a TSX listed oil producing company with assets in Colombia, SA.  C&C was acquired by Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp. at the end of 2012 at a value of $610mm.

Dr. Walls was also the Chairman of Fairborne Energy Ltd. (‘Fairborne”), a public Canadian oil and gas company from May 2005 to October 2012 as well as its founder, President and CEO from 2002 to May 2005. Dr. Walls also served as President, CEO and Director of Fairquest Energy Ltd. from 2005 to 2007, a public oil and natural gas company. Prior to Fairborne, he was the founder, President and CEO of Canadian Midstream Services Ltd.  (“CMSL”), a private oil and natural gas midstream company with mainly sour gas plants, pipelines, and production facilities in Alberta and British Columbia. CMSL was acquired in May 2001 by Duke Energy Field Services Ltd. (“Duke”) and Dr. Walls served as a Special Advisor to Duke until January 2002.

From early 1993 to November 1998, Dr. Walls was the President, CEO and Director of Pan East Petroleum Corp., a Canadian public oil and gas company which had significant discoveries of sour gas in the Devonian of Alberta. He moved from his beginnings at Shell to Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd. and from 1983 until 1989, he was the President and CEO of Kentex Oil Corp., a private U.S. natural gas company based in Houston, Texas, and from 1989 to 1993, he was the founder and President of C&W Energy Ltd. In addition to the aforementioned companies and businesses, from 2002 to 2007 Dr. Walls was the Chairman and major shareholder of OXEN Inc., the parent company of the Alberta Watt Exchange (“WattEx”), an electronic electricity exchange located in Calgary, Alberta. OXEN and WattEx were acquired in 2007 by the Toronto Stock Exchange. Over the past 25 years, Dr. Walls has served as a director on a number of both public and private energy companies in Canada.

Dr. Walls earned a B.Sc. in 1971 from Morehead State University in Kentucky, a M.Sc. in 1973 from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C. and a Ph.D. in geology in1977 from McGill University in Montreal. Dr. Walls also received an Honorary Doctorate in Science from McGill University in 2013.  He established scholarships for undergraduate students at both Morehead and McGill as part of his commitment to furthering education. Dr. Walls is both a Canadian and U.S. citizen and resides in Calgary, Alberta.


Ronald Kisic 


Mr. Kisic has had a multifaceted career over the past 25 years since being admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1993. Currently Mr. Kisic is General Counsel in Canada for EDF Trading North America.

Since 1993, Mr. Kisic has served in a legal capacity for several corporations. From 2003 until 2007 he served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of OXEN and Alberta Watt Exchange, an electronic electricity trading exchange located in Calgary, Alberta. In 2007-2008, he was an advisor for the Boards of Directors and General Counsel Departments at Centrica and Direct Energy Marketing. In 2008 he was a Vice President and General Counsel in Canada for Lehman Brothers Commodity Services. Mr. Kisic was General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Fireweed Brewing Corporation from 2003 to 2014.

Mr. Kisic was a Student‐at‐Law with McCarthy Tetrault in 1992‐93 and began his corporate career with Bow Valley Energy as Corporate Solicitor. From 1994‐96 he served as Corporate Counsel for Morrison Petroleum, CGGS Canadian Gas Gathering Systems and Canadian Gas Gathering Systems II and from 1996‐97 was Corporate Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Viridian‐Agrium. From 1997‐2003 Mr. Kisic was a Vice President, General Counsel as well as Corporate Secretary and a board member for Dynegy Canada. During these years, Mr. Kisic expanded his vast legal expertise to include extensive knowledge of sour gas assets and union experience.

Mr. Kisic served as the General Counsel of Mapan Energy Ltd., from its inception in January 2014 through to its acquisition by Tourmaline Oil Corp. in August 2015. Mr. Kisic currently is an acting director of Escarpment Energy Ltd and Escarpment Energy USA Corporation since their incorporation in 2013 and 2014.

Mr. Kisic earned a Honors B.Sc. in Mathematics at the University of Alberta in 1988 and an LL.B from the University of Alberta in 1992. He was admitted to the Bar in Alberta in 1993. Mr. Kisic is a Canadian citizen and resides in Calgary, Alberta.


Douglas Hunter 


Mr. H. Douglas Hunter, has over 30 years experience in the oil and gas industry and currently serves as Chairman of Bluesky Equities Ltd. and as the President of RFM Capital Corporation Ltd. Mr. Hunter has had a notable career in the upstream end of the petroleum industry and was instrumental in the creation of several private and public oil and gas companies, notably Bluesky Oil & Gas Ltd., Petromark Minerals Ltd., Ricinus Resources Ltd., Triumph Energy Ltd., Petroleum Capital Energy Ltd., Pocaterra Energy Inc. and Tsunami Petroleums Ltd.

Mr. Hunter served as Chairman of US Oil Sands Inc. and as its Director from 2005 to 2013 and served as the Chairman of Viking Holdings Inc., of Viking Energy Royalty Trust. Previously, Mr. Hunter was a Director at multiple companies, such as Buffalo Resources Corp., Quadrise Canada Corporation., Earth Energy Reserves, Inc., Viking Holdings Inc., and Wellco Energy Services Inc., as well as an Administrator of Wellco Energy Services Trust, Earth Energy Resources Inc and Viking Holdings Inc.

Mr. Hunter is a Professional Engineer and holds a B.Sc from the University of Alberta and an M.Sc from the California Institute of Technology.


David Moscovitz


Mr. Moscovitz is an independent advisor and formerly Counsel at Dentons Canada LLP with over 35 years of extensive experience in acquisitions, divestments, dispositions, financings, joint ventures and other general business law.  Prior to this he was a Lawyer and Partner at Goodman and Carr LLP.


Allan Ross


Mr. Ross is the current Chairman and Founder of Ross Smith Asset Management and Reportback Technology firm. In addition, Mr. Ross is an acting Director of Thor Resources since 2013.

Mr. Ross previously was CEO and Founder of Ross Smith Energy Group from 2000 to 2011 and prior to that was employed by Peters & Co in Institutional Sales.

Mr. Ross earned his MBA from Western University and his BBA from St. Francis Xavier University in 1976. Currently an active member of his community, he acts as an outside advisor for the Charboneau Cancer Research Institute.


Carolina J. Walls 


Mrs. Walls legal career focused primarily on Immigration, Refugee and Legal Aid civil cases including Appellate work. She also worked for numerous years in Executive Search focused on recruitment of executives and officers for oil and gas and other industries in western Canada.

Currently, Ms. Walls sits on the Principals International Advising Board at McGill University. She is a co-founder of the Best in the West scholarships which support students from British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba in attending McGill university as she is heartfelt in her commitment to greater national unity. Ms. Walls had the vision for and played a significant role in launching “McGill 24” the first digital fundraising campaign of its kind in Canada which has raised over $4MM in its three years and helps to connect alumni across the world.

Ms. Walls is very active in the community and is a founding Director of the Calgary Police Foundation (CPF) which supports education, intervention and preventative programs for youths in the Calgary region. She is also Co-Chair of the CPF Fund Development Committee.

Ms. Walls is a native of Chile and immigrated to Canada with her family as a youth. She attended McGill University graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree prior to completing her LL.B degree at the University of Alberta in 1989. In 2013, she was awarded an Honorary Doctorate in Science from McGill University.
